Recent recipient of CREDAI best luxury residential development East India and East India's first Platinum rated LEED building, Altius will redefine the area of Topsia in Kolkata.

The characteristic composition derived after lengthy studies to address what threatened to be 2 ungainly and ill-proportioned slab blocks. The West block is a simple slab on an East West axis.  The east block is actually a 3-unit 'T' plan with the 'leg' of the 'T' orientated to the South with consequential exposure to the low East and West sun.

aCTa elected to link all the units that run on the East-West axis. These did not require shading but adherence to Vastu results in an irregular assortment of windows which are controlled by a giant order of chajas and posts. A roof top garden, pool and clubhouse is wrapped in backlit glass to provide a dramatic counterpoint to the rich form below and will signal Altius across the skyline at night.

The characteristic aluminum panels clad the short leg of the ‘T’ to screen these units against the troublesome East and West sun.

These panels cascade down to envelope and mask the car park podium in an organic form to soften and unify the whole composition.
