Competition-winning design for a 150-key 5* hotel and retail mall, ‘Mall of Joy’ in Cochi, Kerala India.
 
The Mall of Joy will be India’s foremost destination mall for everything related to celebrations- birthdays, weddings, Christmas, Diwali, etc.
 
The common theme between these celebrations is light. Our Central theme to our concept was integrating light into the mall in conjunction with a dramatic cascading veil which drops from the hotel tower, across the mall roof and down along the narrow entrance to announce the mall on the street. The veil motif clearly suggests weddings but in addition recalls the iconic indigenous fishing nets of Kerala.
 
The simple choice of lighting would signify each celebration cheaply and very effectively.
 
This will be aCTa’s first project in Kerala.
